Rachel Anne O'Driscoll Smith Memorial Scholarship
Rachel Anne O’Driscoll Smith earned her BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from Westminster in 2013 with a goal of becoming an aeromedical flight nurse. For nine years, she cared for the tiniest and sickest babies in three different neonatal ICUs. Parents later reported that Rachel sat with them in their most difficult times and said, “I want you to know, I love your child, and I’m going to take good care of them.”
Just months after becoming a neonatal flight nurse, Rachel was diagnosed with cancer. She passed away six months later. She left her husband, Todd Smith, also a nurse graduate from Westminster, and two small children, Eloise and Wesley.
In memory of Rachel, her family has established the Rachel Anne O’Driscoll Smith Memorial Scholarship to support nursing students at Westminster who share her passion for patient care. Your contribution will carry forward her legacy by empowering future nurses to follow in Rachel's footsteps—offering comfort, skill, and love to those who need it most.
