Pickleweed Research Team
Join us in supporting the Great Salt Lake Pickleweed project at Westminster University's Great Salt Lake Institute (GSLI).
As the Great Salt Lake shrinks, the dry shoreline poses a major dust problem in Northern Utah. But what’s in that dust? The native shoreline pickleweed plant could hold the answers.
With your support, GSLI’s student-led research team can study the pickleweed's natural toxin accumulation to identify chemicals in the soil. Your contribution will fuel next research steps by providing funds for field supplies, lab analysis materials, student research opportunities, and conference travel.
Student-led research into this important health issue is just beginning. With a better understanding of what dangerous chemicals are in the soil, we will have a much clearer picture of what is in the dust we are breathing and how it is impacting the health of our community. Take the leap and give today!
